Organic Boozy Hot Chocolate
Snuggle up this winter with a warm cup of boozy hot chocolate made from scratch. This recipe is perfect for nights spent cuddled up with a movie, getting into a good book, or sitting watching the fireplace crackle as the night settles in. When I think of this recipe I swear snowflakes instantly fall outside of the window and the fireplace magically turns on.
We decided to shake it up with something a little outside of your traditional hot coco recipe! The ingredients make two servings and is also gluten free, dairy free and vegan!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups almond milk (or substitute with milk of choice - this may not be a vegan option)
- 4 Tbsp dark chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tsp coconut sugar
- 1/2 tsp organic vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp rum
- 3-4 marshmallows to serve
- 1 tsp cocoa powder to use for a garnish
Instructions:
-
In a saucepan whisk together milk, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, coconut sugar and vanilla extract to a boil over high heat until steaming.
-
Remove from heat, add rum and whisk together.
-
Pour into mugs.
-
Top with Dandy's marshmallows and lightly dust with cocoa powder to add a nice garnish.
