Burnt Sugar Old Fashioned

We're starting off cocktail club with a classic. Get ready to be the official host of happy hour because your guests are not going to be able to get enough of this recipe.

Ingredients:
2 Tbsp Burnt Sugar Syrup
2 Dashes Aromatic Bitters
2 Ounces Bulleit Bourbon
2 Maraschino Cherries
1 Orange Wedge
Ice Cubes
Blue Sky or Zevia Lemon Lime Soda


In a glass combine ice cubes, burnt sugar syrup, bitters, and bourbon. Top if off with a splash of Lemon Lime Soda to taste and garnish with a skewer of cherries and an orange wedge.

Burnt Sugar Syrup Ingredients:
3/4 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Boiling Water


1. Add 3/4 cup of sugar to skillet, stir occasionally & melt on low heat until it turns an amber color.

2. Remove from heat and add 3/4 cup boiling water

3. Return to low heat and let simmer until the sugar and water are thoroughly combined.

4. Allow it to cool and then set aside in an air tight container.
